Game that used to be the most popular among boys in Singapore is MARBLE, which are known as " go li", the Tamil term for the word--marble. Marbles is an exciting game and there are many variations of it as well. Boys would try to collect as many marbles from their opponents as possible, making it as the aim of the whole game. The marbles, therefore becomes some sort of trophy that shows how skillful the players are.
How to play?
In this game, players will need to draw a circle first. The circle can be of any size as they want. Each player has, in his hand, a shooting marble. The rest of the marbles are put into the circle. The objective of the game is to use your shooting marble to hit your opponent's marbles out of the circle. When a player manages to hit a marble out of the circle, it becomes his.
Five Stones
Children in Singapore used to compare their collection to see who had the nicest set of five stones. The is actually more well known for girls during that period that time. It's actually a cheap and easy game during the past. Why is it cheap? This is because, most of the mother will just sew for their kids as it is made of just cloths and sand/rice. Thus this can consist as a cheap and affordable game earlier on.

Hopscotch
It had always been a source of never-ending fun during my childhood. In kindergarten, being able to hop through all the boxes was a great feat, but in primary school you were seen as silly if you didn’t complete it with a fancy stunt or two. Looking back on those days, I realised that something this simple boxes drawn on the floor, could provide us with that much fun, laughter and joy. Still remember "stealling" some chalks from the classroom, using them to draw out the boxes at the parade square during recess time and after school. Jumpping here and there is fun although they are tiring!!! :)
